Missions
The Missions Team offers a free soup lunch on the third floor of the Landers after the service Jan. 22. Diners will find a variety of homemade soups and breads, some with international origins, along with refreshments. Donations will be gladly accepted to help fund three major Fellowship Batesville mission trips this year. Anyone wishing to donate soup, bread or your time to help with setup and cleanup, please e-mail Han Ong, han.ong@lyon.edu.
Anyone interested in making or supporting the Guatemala mission trip for 2012 please e-mail Ken Paul, kpaul7285@gmail.com, very soon. If interested in helping with fundraising for Guatemala, contact Becky Ellison.
Amos and Meredith Anderson, World Venture missionaries in Albania, report that the heating problems in their new home seem unlikely to be resolved this winter. The propane system does not sufficiently warm the water in their radiators and their fireplace is too small for the combination to heat the house above 55 degrees most days. They have adapted with small electric space heaters and extra layers of warm clothing, but it is hard on their young boys. They ask for your prayers for positive attitudes and enduring perspective, for favor with their landlord (who lives in Greece) and that he be convinced the problem is serious and needs fixing, that they can find a solution that won’t require moving, and for endurance over the next three months of winter.
Connect
Connect+Scripture offers a five-days-a-week schedule to read the Bible in a year, and an archive of devotionals by Fellowship members who followed the plan throughout 2011. Connect with those we don’t know at the service each Sunday by offering a warm welcome to our many visitors and new faces.
